The Trump Administration is offering new media outlets, such as podcasters and influencers, access to the White House press briefing room. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized the importance of connecting with younger audiences who turn to non-traditional news sources.
The Trump Administration has introduced an innovative plan to reserve seats in the White House press briefing room for representatives from "new media" outlets, such as podcasters, social media influencers, and content creators. The initiative seeks to offer representation to groups that have historically been excluded from the briefing room.

A change in media representation.
In her first daily briefing on Tuesday, January 28, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the youngest press secretary in history at 27, outlined the reasoning behind the decision.
Leavitt stated, “Millions of Americans, especially young people, have moved away from traditional TV and newspapers, turning to podcasts, blogs, social media, and other independent platforms for news. It’s essential for our team to spread President Trump’s message broadly and adjust the White House to the changing media landscape of 2025.”
